Floodplain whitetails

The introduction of agriculture along floodplain forests of the northern plains has rejuvenated the once dwindling populations of whitetail deer. Various types of crop planted along riversides provide a great amount of vegetable diversity for deet.

Flashlight whitetails

White-tailed deer hunters who get into position before dawn should use a flashlight that is small, light and easy to grip. Alkaline batteries are better than rechargeable ones, which go out without warning when they lose power.

Wind and whitetails

Hunters can use wind to increase the chances of a successful hunt by realizing that deer become uneasy when it is windy. The scent of a hunter can kept from the buck if the hunter maps his strategy well.
