Hanging tough

Article Abstract:

Ten-time national title and eight-time individual NCAA title champion Kristine Quance has established her mark not only for her swimming prowess, but also for being able to come back from career setbacks to win her events. Among the problems she hurdled are diagnosis of mononucleosis prior to the 1992 Olympic trials, where she was ranked second in the world going into competitions. She also overcame a disqualification for a turn violation in the 1996 Olympic trials to join the team in the 100 breast and 200 individual medley.
