Hot oil massage

Article Abstract:

High temperatures within the engine reduces the viscosity of lubricating oils making them less efficient in areas where they are needed. Multi-grade oils have higher viscosity indices because of additive chemistry. This increases the viscosity of oils and makes them more efficient lubricants.

Hidden viscosity

Article Abstract:

The viscosity of a motorcycle's lubricating oil sweeps it into the crankshaft and enables the bearing to carry a load of several thousands pounds per sq in. Computer modeling of oil shows that the apparent viscosity increases under pressure.
