How crankbaits work

Champion fisherman Mike McClelland tested 200 crankbaits and discovered that line diameter is a major determinant of the maximum depth lures reach. Information, drawn from McClelland's findings, on trolling and cast-fishing with crankbaits is given.

Deep-diving crankbaits for shallow bass

Article Abstract:

Two of the country's top crankbait fishermen prefer long-billed crankbaits for bass fishing. This practice may be unusual, but it can be very effective. Both men are major tournament winners. Their techniques are illustrated and discussed.

Short strikes
