Alta, Utah receives 500 inches of snow annually, and has a wide assortment of challenging runs. The Tetons' Grand Targhee ranks second, and Alta's nearby neighbor snowbird ranks third. Powder-seekers should remember that the snowiest time of the year in the Rocky Mountains is March and April.
