Effects of exercise training on gallbladder function in an obese female population

Article Abstract:

Evaluation of 27 obese subjects for gallbladder function, cardiorepiratory fitness, and body composition shows that exercise significantly improves measured parameters and a 12 week of moderate exercise enhances cardiorespiratory fitness in obese women.

Validation of the adult OMNI scale of perceived exertion for walking/running exercise

Article Abstract:

Concurrent and construct validity of the OMNI-Walk/Run Scale of Perceived Exertion of young adult women and men (18-36 yrs) is examined. Concurrent and construct evidence supports use of the OMNI-Walk/Run Scale by adult women and men to estimate ratings of perceived exertion.

Influence of diet and/or exercise on body composition and cardiorespiratory fitness in obese women

Article Abstract:

Studies reveal different effects of exercise and/or diet in overweight women during a 12-week trial. Diet alone produced weight loss but did not improve cardiopulmonary fitness, while exercise alone improved cardiopulmonary fitness but did not result in body composition changes. Diet and exercise, however, had positive effects for both weight loss and cardiopulmonary variables.
