The article examines regulations that allow the health care industry and consumers easier access to participation in Medicare policy at the local level. Topics addressed include the management of the US Health Care Financing Administration, and the political activity of the American Physical Therapy Association.

APTA mobilizes on manipulation

Article Abstract:

This article examines the increasing legislative efforts to restrain the ability of physical therapist's to administer therapeutic manipulation. The work of the American Physical Therapy Association to retain the rights of physical therapists to perform this service is addressed.

House in action - fighting for patients' rights

Article Abstract:

The American Physical Therapy Association has drafted the "Campaign to Safeguard Patients' Rights" and testified in Congressional hearings on managed care. The association hopes to increase the right of patients to determine their physical therapy needs.
