Larry Johnson: he once drove down Easy Street, but the Charlotte Hornets' $84 million man hasn't steered clear of his share of bumps

Larry Johnson of the Charlotte Hornets believes that the team has a real chance to be a title contender in the 1994-95 season. Two years earlier, Johnson had a great season and signed a 12-year, $84-million contract, but in the 1993-94 season his play was hampered by a back injury.

Mason boasts that he is performing better than Johnson did for the Hornets, and Mason's statistics for the 1996-97 season back him up. Mason still respects the New York Knicks but feels that he was mislead into believing that he would remain with the team.
