Lower extremity muscle morphology in young athletes: An MRI-based analysis

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to describe lower extremity muscle morphology in young athletes, to compare this data with existing ones and to determine whether muscle morphological values differ significantly between both limbs. The data collected shows considerable intersubject variability in muscle volume and peak cross-sectional area, current measurements are different from previous ones and side-to-side muscle morphology varies in consistent patterns.

Mechanisms of compensating for anterior cruciate ligament deficiency during gait

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to examine the existence of the quadriceps avoidance pattern in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficient patients and to further identify gait compensations that may exist in this subject pool. The prevalence of multiple adaptive strategies to compensate for ACL deficiency has several important ramifications.

Altered quadriceps control in people with anterior cruciate ligament deficiency

Article Abstract:

The likeness in patterns of quadriceps dysfunction when people with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficiency perform active and inactive tasks is determined. The quadriceps muscle control tactics displayed by patients with ACL deficiency were essentially different from those of uninjured subjects.
