Article Abstract:

A woman describes how she lost 145 pounds in one year. At 280 lb and totally sedentary, she was scared into losing weight by heart palpitations. She started with dangerous quick-loss diets, but moved into healthy eating and exercising. She does not recommend anyone lose weight as fast as she did.

Moving toward a brighter future

Article Abstract:

A man who lost 130 pounds described how he did it. He weighed 290 pounds by age 25 when he was diagnosed with type-II diabetes. By the time he turned 31 he was taking insulin twice a day and weighed 330 pounds. He started eating a healthier diet only after suffering chest pain.
