Metabolic recovery in professional road cyclists: A (super 31)P-MRS study

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine metabolic recovery after an incremental cycling exercise performed until exhaustion in professional road cyclists as compared with moderately trained subjects and so using (super 31)P magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). The data obtained demonstrated that the tremendous aerobic capacity in professional cyclists is linked to faster pH recovery kinetics after a specific cycling exercise.

Running 8000 m fast or slow: Are there differences in energy cost and fat metabolism?

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to compare energy requirements and substrate use for running a given distance fast versus slow under field conditions. Results showed that energy requirements for a commonly run distance in recreational endurance training differed significantly but not relevantly between slow and fast speeds, though increasing total running distance might lead to larger differences.

Different effects of two regeneration regimens on immunological parameters in cyclists

Article Abstract:

The effect of 4-d active regeneration of different duration on immunological parameters after 2wk of intensive training is investigated. Low-intensity regenerative training sessions in cyclists should preferably be conducted for shorter duration than 3 h.
