The experience about tobianos, based on almost 30 years of breeding and showing Paint Horses with a program that is produced on American Paint Horse Association (APHA) world champion and several reserve world champions is described. The observed characteristics are explained, along with the reasons to think they have got negative stereotype in the show ring, and what can be expected when breeding for them, and also the names of some tobys are shared who have made history.

Judge Betsy Tuckey from JBT Farm in Ashland, Virginia judges horses for the AQHA, NSBA, NRHA, and NRCHA and briefly goes through AQHA's Western Riding Pattern 3 to explain the importance of gait quality and smooth lead changes. She feels that each maneuver is scored by half-point increments, from plus one and a half points for excellent, to negative one and a half points for extremely poor.
