My happiness gene: now I know why even the most heartbreaking trauma didn't pin me to the ground

Article Abstract:

A ten-year study of 5,000 people found that basic levels of happiness were more affected by personality than events or circumstances. People who are naturally optimistic usually have more activity in the left pre-frontal cortex of the brain. One woman's response to a tragedy is recounted.
