New lifting strakes for Blue Bill

The Wilbur 34, Blue Bill, of Richard Oster of Providence, RI, was installed with lifting strakes or spray hulls to minimize or eliminate the spray and fog that engulf its stern at planing speeds. The design and engineering of the lifting strakes' shape, position and structural detail are discussed.
