No way out

Article Abstract:

Suggestions for avoiding deaths or accidents during basic scuba diving courses are presented. Beginners should see to it that their instructors are properly certified and insured. They can also inquire about the current status of their teachers through diving associations. The dive sites should be chosen based on divers' skills and experience. There must be means of communications with other people, whether through two-way radios or cellular telephones. Dive operators or instructors must have an emergency plan and the necessary equipment needed to deal with any emergency.

Misguided rescue

Article Abstract:

An effective dive rescue or search operation requires training, experience, planning and proper equipment. Divers should not join in any dive rescue operation unless the person is qualified and prepared to do so. Some of the important training courses a diver should take are first aid and oxygen administration. Without a well-conceived plan, rescue dives could lead to more problems and injuries for those involved. Moreover, someone should be put in charge during rescue operations.

Murder, he wrote?

Article Abstract:

A scuba diver should remain positively buoyant if another scuba diver is holding him down. Divers can do this by inflating their BC and continuing to breathe. They should then remove weights and swim for the surface. Divers should also utilize the anchor line to determine the scope and control of the diving activity. In addition, scuba divers should check their diving gear before any activity and make sure that they are not excessively over-weighted.
