Noteworthy numbers and stat oddities

Article Abstract:

Interesting sports statistics include the fact that African Americans accounted for 17% of major league baseball players in 1959, and only 15% in 1997. On the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson's debut with the Dodgers, only one Dodger was African American. These and other statistics are discussed.
