Obesity and postexercise oxidation stress in older women

Article Abstract:

The study was conducted, which compared lipid peroxidation values in nonobese and obese postmenopausal women before and after acute maximal aerobic exercise. The result showed that for a given oxidative challenge that is exercise-associated oxygen utilization, older, obese women were at greater risk for oxidative stress compared with nonobese counterparts.

Neuroendocrine responses to an acute bout of eccentric-enhanced resistance exercise

Article Abstract:

A study on untrained males was done to determine the neuroendocrine, metabolic and performance responses to resistance training to enable more effective training programs are presented. Results found that acute alterations in post exercise hormone responses may not be the main mechanism explaining higher muscular adaptations associated with ECC+.

High-intensity dynamic human muscle performance enhanced by a metabolic intervention

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of a metabolic treatment comprised of ketoacid and amino acids on quadricep muscle performance during intense anaerobic exercise. Results indicate that the treatment protocol improved muscle performance, increased torque, and delayed muscle fatigue when compared to a control treatment.
