Olympics '96

Article Abstract:

Marathon runner Frank Shorter describes the experience of winning his event in the 1972 Olympic Games, only to have an imposter cross the finish line before him. In addition, the training routine of 10,000-meter runner Laurie Henes, as she prepares for the 1996 Olympics, is described.

Article Abstract:

A marathon runner describes how he sometimes runs in his basement when the weather is too inclement to run outdoors. He can complete the equivalent of a 20-mile run by striding diagonally back-and-forth across the room for 2 hours and 40 minutes.
