Osteopenia: implications for physical therapists managing patients of all ages

Article Abstract:

This article describes the risk factors for osteopenia and osteoporosis, and examines the benefits of physical therapy interventions for those suffering with these types of bone demineralization conditions. Topics addressed include examination of the patient, and factors that relate to healthy bones, including nutrition, hormone levels, and physical activity.

The trip of a lifetime

The authors describe a trip taken by a group of physical therapists and members of the American Physical Therapy Association to China, in an attempt to forge cross-cultural bonds within the discipline. Topics addressed include Chinese medicine and the state of physical therapy in China.
