Perceptions of elite coaches and sports scientists of the research needs for elite coaching practice

Article Abstract:

A study was undertaken through surveys and interviews to elicit the views sports scientists and select few coaches held on research requirements to enhance coaching and performance outcomes. Results showed that although both groups held similar views the need to disperse research findings through sports workshops and magazines was stressed.

Effects of toss and weather on county cricket championship outcomes

Article Abstract:

The study examined the possible outcomes on team relegation and group promotion in English county cricket league matches that could be attributed to weather and winning the toss. Results showed that disruptions due to weather as well as the initial toss did play a role on the outcomes and recommends options to overcome this setback.

Why young elite athletes fear failure: consequences of failure

Article Abstract:

A study to investigate the fear of failure in sports domain among young elite athletes was conducted. Findings are consistent with those reported in adult populations, suggesting the potential for generalizing existing results to young elite athletes.
