Photosensitization is a condition which is similar to sunburn but more severe and sometimes is related to an underlying health problem. In this condition the skin on the horse's face, around his muzzle and nostrils has become thick, crusty, red and cracked which feels warmer than usual, and your horse pulls away when someone touches it, as though it's tender.

Some of the medical reasons are overlooked to understand the reasons why the mare suddenly stops in the middle of the ride and did not want to move further. The vet that could explain the reasons causing the mare to sudden stop evaluates the medical problems.
