Variables related to meeting the CDC/ASCM physical activity guidelines

Article Abstract:

This study uses a nationwide telephone survey to examine the relationship between attitudes toward physical fitness, demographic variables, and levels of physical activity. Results indicate that there is a significant association between the perceived importance of exercise, gender, and regular physical activity levels.

Physical activity dose-response effects on outcomes of depression and anxiety

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of regular physical activity on symptoms of anxiety and depression. Findings indicate that there is a modest association between physical activity and anxiety, but there is a direct relationship between increased levels of resistive and aerobic exercise and reductions in depressive symptoms.

Evaluating the reproducibility and validity of the aerobic adaptation test

Article Abstract:

Research shows that physical activity intervention programs can be evaluated in terms of submaximal work capacity using the Aerobic Adaptation Test (AAT) criteria. Data indicate that AAT is reproducible and is a valid measurement method for submaximal work capacity.
