Harley-Davidson announced "Plan 2003" which aims to increase motorcycle production to 200,000 by year 2003. It involved the opening of the Willie G. Davidson Product Development Center, a Porsche-Harley engineering link-up, and the acquisition of an 800,000 sq ft facility for Big Twin motors.

Computers have become highly advanced with the advent of artificial intelligence. The word processing computer IBM 386 programed with XYwrite III, for instance, is capable of offering alternative terms to words not in its dictionary. However, it can still commit numerous mistakes.
