Reexamination of validity and reliability of the CSA monitor in walking and running

Article Abstract:

Evaluation of the computer science and applications (CSA) model 7164 for the validity and reliability in monitoring walking and running reveals that CSA output increases linearly with the speed of the walking but not in running. Data show that between-subject reliability is relaed to step frequency as CSA measurements are filtered at higher movement frequencies.

Cardiovascular response of trained and untrained old men to mental challenge

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the cardiovascular response to mental challenges by older men, using both trained and untrained subjects. Results showed that trained men showed significantly lower heart rate during and after Stroop task than did untrained men, and also showed greater left ventricular ejection time in recovering from Stroop.

Cardiovascular response of trained preadolescent boys to mental challenge

Article Abstract:

Evaluation of aerobically trained and untrained preadolescent boys for cardiovascular response when mentally challenged with Stroop task and tetris computer game suggests cardiac reactivity to mental stress as revealed by increased heart rate and vagal activity change in the trained boys.
