Strategies for maintaining a handstand in the anterior-posterior direction

Article Abstract:

This article examines the contributions of several joints in maintaining balance during a handstand. Findings indicate that the hip, shoulder, and wrist joint torques contribute to movement in the body mass center, that wrist joint torque influences body mass center variance, and that hip torque contributes to unsuccessful handstand balance.

Multi-segment coordination: fatigue effects

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of fatigue on segmental coordination during vertical jumps. Findings indicate that jumps conducted during fatigue conditions had longer contact times and earlier initiation of movement but countermovement jumps had consistent and well-timed segmental motion.
