The 1993 Midwinter Regatta attracted more than 3,000 sailors and more than 900 boats. The regatta, which was first held in Los Angeles, CA, in 1928, takes place in locations throughout the Los Angeles Basin.

Read wins fifth J/24 Worlds

Defending champion Ken Read won the 1993 J/24 World Championship on a chartered boat that was the same one he sailed to win the 1991 Worlds. Terry Hutchinson finished second.
