The women's health field presents many opportunities for physical therapists who want to specialize. Areas where physical therapists include pregnancy and postpartum care, osteoporosis prevention and post-mastectomy care. Four therapists in women's health care are profiled.

The emergency department: a new opportunity for physical therapy

This article examines the benefits of physical therapy services provided in hospital emergency departments, focusing on the work of physical therapists at Carondelet Health Network/St. Joseph's Hospital in Tuscon, Arizona. Physicians refer urgent care patients to physical therapists who can perform duties such as diagnosis, adjustments, massage, and medication administration.
