Article Abstract:

A man recounts a ski trip he and a friend took to Glaciar de Jamapa, Mexico's largest glacier. They stayed the first night in the village of Tlachichuca, then arranged transportation up to the base camp. After nine hours of climbing, they skiing the 3,000 vertical drop glacier.

Article Abstract:

The Mountain Warfare Training Center in the High Sierra of California trains marines to fight and survive in the mountains. Lessons include being pulled on skis behind a snow cat, building a snow cave and cross-country skiing. A visitor to the camp describes typical training.

Article Abstract:

A downhill skier describes his attempt at cross-country skiing. He found that the sport was physically demanding, but not very exciting. The absence of smiles on the faces of cross-country skiers convinced him that cross-country skiing is more like work than play.
