The Sharps: legacy of the buffalo rifle

Article Abstract:

The Sharp rifle's ability to hit a target at long range made it a favorite rifle for buffalo hunters during the 1870s and 1880s. The rifle's accuracy was a major factor in the extinction of the buffalo, and the Sharp Rifle Co subsequently went out of business.
