The hydration profile of female cricket players during competition

Article Abstract:

An examination of the hydration profile, which includes hydration monitoring and a questionnaire, of high-performance female cricket players participating at national tournaments, was conducted to evaluate the awareness about hydration and practices in female cricket players. The observations reveal the call for hydration suggestions for each player and suggest ways for hydration education for female cricket player in future.

Effect of iron supplementation on thyroid hormone levels and resting metabolic rate in two female college athletes: a case study

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effects of elemental iron supplements on resting energy expenditure and thyroid hormone metabolism in two female athletes with iron-deficiency anemia. Iron supplementation corrected anemia and significantly improved ferritin levels in both women, but had significantly different effects on metabolic rate and thyroxine concentrations between subjects.

Iron status and resting immune function in female college swimmers

Article Abstract:

This article examines iron status and activity levels of natural killer cells in trained female swimmers. Findings indicate that there are no significant interactions between killer cell activity and iron status, but immune function is significantly greater in trained athletes than sedentary control subjects.
