Bill Stevens was the driving force in the Caribbean bareboat industry but he dropped in 1980s and presently he has launched Steven Custom 53 boat. The features of the boat are discussed, some of the features are a large saloon and a gallery, where European appliances add to the ambience while tempting the cook to create culinary excesses.

A North American sailing industry study reveals that close to 1,400 boats between 20 to 30 feet were built in 2002. A review of 2003 small-boats is presented in the groups of cat boats, boats of traditional form, contemporary form, multihulls, mono rocket ships, and micro cruisers.
