Travels into the future

Article Abstract:

Multimedia technology has changed the way the tourism industry communicates holiday and travel information to customers. Multimedia kiosks using video, sound and graphics technology have invaded the industry, showing video footages of destinations, hotels and location maps. These kiosks are not only used to promote certain tourist destinations, but also to access electronic versions of travel brochures and for bookings. Technology, however, will never fully replace face-to-face meetings or telephone reservations that travel agents and other traditional channels offer.
