The wild, wild wet

Article Abstract:

A 2,070-mile trip up the Missouri River from St Louis, MO, to Fort Benton, MT, in a pair of 16-foot jonboats is described. The five-week trip involved encounters with more than 12 rapids and probing for natural channels in shallow areas.

Bowfishers use specialized gear and small aluminum boats with raised platforms. Dozens of bowfishing tournaments are held each year, and they perform the service of controlling the roughfish population.
