A circumnavigator describes the incident, which he came across while sailing in the Chagos Archipelago, a collection of six main groups located at 6 degrees 00'S, 71 degrees 30' E, while his sailboat went on the outer reef of the Salomon Islands atoll. The mistake he did was that he passed into the atoll between the two islands where there was a shallow reef.
