Understanding autonomy

There is a definite momentum being built up towards greater autonomy in physical therapy practice and various legislations being passed in different states is an indication of its success. The cornerstone of success in autonomy however is the patient-therapist relationship with a lot depending on the therapist to ensure alertness and attention at all times failing which the consequences can be disastrous.
