Up the weight, lower the lipids; strength training may cut cholesterol

Article Abstract:

A study of 46 women showed them to have dropped LDL cholesterol by 12% after adding weight training to their exercise programs. The women, aged 28 to 39, worked with the weights three times a week for an hour over a five-month period.

Wheat germ is back: nutritional standby may cut cholesterol

Article Abstract:

The use of wheat germ might reduce amounts of unhealthy cholesterol by as much as 7.2% according to a study. The reduced cholesterol will likely reduce the chances of suffering from a heart disease.
