Validity of lower extremity strength and power utilizing a new closed chain dynamometer

Article Abstract:

This article compares measures of lower extremity kinetics during seated exercise taken using a isokinetic dynamometer and a closed chain dynamometer. Results indicate that measures of crank power, peak knee torques, and joint kinetics were comparable but the closed chain system was better at evaluating exercise kinetics at higher speeds.

A new bilateral closed chain assessment technique: methods and error analysis

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that Omnikinetic methodology is well-suited for clinically evaluating bilateral lower extremity function of joints. The study shows the technique is accurate and sensitive to variations in measurement protocols.
