Variation of salivary immunoglobulins in exercising and sedentary populations

Article Abstract:

The nature of the variability in salivary immunoglobulin and albumin concentrations within an individual, between individuals, and between populations with differing levels of habitual physical activity is examined. Results reveal that the variability and fluctuation of salivary immunoglobulin concentrations were consistently greater in the elite swimmers, but multiple samples from individual swimmers were less correlated compared with participants with lower physical activity levels.

High femoral bone mineral density accretion in prepubertal soccer players

Article Abstract:

The effect of physical activity on bone mineral accrual during growth in prepuberal boys is mentioned. Starting participation in soccer from prepubertal age for a long term, results in improvement of physical fitness, greater acquisition of bone mass and a lower accumulation of body fat.

High femoral bone mineral content and density in male football (soccer) players

Research reveals that recreational long-term football participation at prepubertal age leads to marked increase in bone mineral content and density at the femoral neck and lumbar spine regions.
