Why I hate tree stands

Tree stands are not favored by all deer hunters despite their offering advantages such as improved vantage point, and dissipation human scent into the upper atmosphere. The hunters who favor ground hunting feel that a treestand hunter must depend on the deer to move into a shooting lane, whereas a ground hunter can slither and slide to create a shot.

Article Abstract:

Deer meat can be properly aged by keeping it at temperatures above freezing and below 40 degrees which would keep bacteria at bay, allowing natural enzymes to do their work. Young deer do not have much collagen, so aging for a couple of days is plenty while older bucks with more collagen benefit from extending the period by a week or more.
