Wild Snake River salmon

Article Abstract:

Wild populations of Snake River salmon and steelhead are reported to be on the endangered species list mostly due to the federal hydropower system in the Snake and Columbia rivers in Washington. There is a mortality rate of almost 15 % as the Snake River salmon smolts must pass through eight dams during their downstream migration.
