Wild egg hunt

Article Abstract:

Volunteers, such as 14-year-old Jess Ohrt and his Scout troop, help save wild ducks eggs from being destroyed. Jess and his friends collect eggs left by mallard hens in California rice fields in the spring, before the fields are burned and plowed. Care of the eggs and hatchery details are discussed.
