NO WEB SALES FOR SOVEREIGN LINE

Article Abstract:

The new Kenwood Sovereign line of limited distribution products for U.S. market won't be authorized for any dealers to sell online, according to Kenwood Sales and Marketing VP Bob Law. The Sovereign line currently includes three new DVD components as well as the Entre entertainment hub, which currently markets for $1,800. DVD components include the top-of-the-line $1,500 DV-5900M, the $1,200 DV-5700, and the $1,000 DV-5050M DVD-Video only unit.

PLASMA, WIDESCREEN LCDS AT NAB

Article Abstract:

The Victor Company of Japan (JVC) plans to launch a $18,000 50W plasma display panel (PDP), with 1,365x766 resolution and 600 lumens. Panasonic developed the PDP, which targets professional applications. Not to be outdone, Sanyo and Toshiba are developing front projectors with widescreen LCD panels to target custom installation market.
