AEM still on track

Article Abstract:

Automated electrified monorail (AEM) is finding applications beyond its conventional automotive industry uses. For instance, in the automotive industry, AEM is used to move body parts between welding stations without the AEM having to drop the parts. In some high-speed applications, such as aircraft maintenance applications, AEMs can attain speeds of over 600 feet per minute. AEM's greatest advantage is its flexibility, and if combined with variable frequency drive, AEMs can do more than just carrying parts and pieces. AEMs also interface conveniently with other technologies such as automated storage and retrieval and automatic guided vehicles. The technology allows for various configurations regardless of the geometry of the building.

What you need to know about plastic pallets

Article Abstract:

The number of times a plastic pallet is reused, also called0 cycles, is one of the determining factors when picking one and it is also one of the best reasons why plastic pallets have slowly replaced wooden pallets over the years. Other considerations when choosing a plastic pallet include knowing the supply flow of the products for which the pallet is intended, its planned application, the different kinds of plastic pallets, the cost differential and the value of the overall investment against the potential gains. A switch to plastic pallets can also address such issues as concerns for the environment, cleanliness, product damage and safety.

Extendible conveyors tighten the supply chain

Article Abstract:

Flexible Material Handling's extendible conveyors sees expansion of applications in the material handling industry. The conveyors, which are equipped with rollers, skatewheels or belts, are used in applications that include automotive stampings dies and handling of trailer cartons. The equipment has specialized varieties such as the powered extendible conveyors that are usually used to load cartons on receiving docks. The conveyors can also be equipped with casters and be adjusted on different fixed conveyors or loading dock positions.
