Characteristics of worker accidents on NYSDOT construction projects

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted for providing cost-effective safety measures to protect construction workers in highway work zones. Five accident types like struck by large equipment, trip or fall, contact w/electrical or gas utility, struck by moving or falling load and crane or lift device failure were described by a detailed analysis on New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) construction projects from 1990 to 2001.

Age differences in safety attitudes and safety performance in Hong Kong construction workers

Article Abstract:

A study exploring the relations between age and safety performance and attitudes was conducted for construction workers in Hong Kong. The results showed that accident rates were not related to age but occupational injuries were related to age with positive attitudes to safety.

Heavy equipment and truck-related deaths on excavation work sites

A study on worker deaths caused by their use of heavy equipment during construction works at excavation sites is discussed.
