IBS aids safer navigation

Article Abstract:

The Marine Accident Investigation branch (MAIB) says marine collisions happen due to tired officers and lack of staff at nights. The new Integrated Bridge System (IBS), the working of which is explained will allow safe navigation. Recently, the biggest ship ever built in Croatia is fitted with Manta bridge IBS supplied by Kelvin Hughes.

The integrated bridge system was generated for the officer of the watch to avoid accidents caused by human errors and to cope up with their stress and to reduce their workload. This system offer safety, punctuality, fuel saving and easy operation throughout the voyage and makes the best use of the weather forecast.

Double double-enders for Calmac

The Scottish west coast will introduce two new double-ended ropax ferries that were being built in the UK for ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne (Calmac). Brown Brothers Aquarius 50 holding-fin stabilizers are destined for Calmac's double-ended ferry Coruisk.
