Norsk Hydro Waste Treatment Systems and Deerburg are companies specializing on the design and installation of waste treatment systems on cruise liners. Norsk's waste treatment has three process lines for waste incineration, food waste treatment and recycling and storage. Deerburg, the company that installed the waste treatment systems of Princess' Cruises Dawn Princess, uses conventional sorting and non-sorting. The conventional sorting sorts out glass and tins for disposal ashore while the non-sorting involves the incineration of waste by shredders and silos.
