Management pratices as antecedents of safety culture within the trucking industry: similarities and differences by hierarchical level

Article Abstract:

A unanimous perception of safety is very important to achieve a strong safety culture, which depends on the position and hierarchical level of the employee within the organization. A study on the safety training, opportunity for safety input and management commitment shows that implementation of stronger safety cultures leads to fewer accidents.

The concept of degraded images applied to hazard recognition training in mining for reduction of lost-time injuries

Article Abstract:

The application of a training intervention that uses degraded images for improving the hazard recognition skills of miners is discussed. The effectiveness of the training intervention at two mining companies is investigated.
