Networking with colleges bolsters maintenance training program

Article Abstract:

Community colleges, related educational organizations, and transit operators in Southern California formed the Southern California Regional Training Consortium (SCRTC). The association will create a partnership between the transit industry and the educational community to develop standardized training programs for mechanics and leverage the expertise and tools of trained educators.

Top 100 transit bus total drops slightly, missing the 60,000 mark

Article Abstract:

Only 59,992 vehicles are listed by the 100 largest bus fleets in United States and Canada, which is a slight drop from 2004. MTA New York City Transit was marked no.1 again in fleet ranking.
