The Port of Tanjong Pelepas in southern Malaysia only began operations in 1999, but in 2001 it has managed to make its mark. In 2000 the port won a contract with Maersk Sealand for its container business from the Port of Singapore Authority.

Crowley wins Phase II of Ehime Maru recovery

Crowley Marine Services will continue to support the Office of the Superintendent of Salvage of the US Navy as prime contractor for the 2nd phase of the recovery of the Japanese fishing vessel, the Ehime Maru.

Dutch expertise raises Kursk

Van Seumeren joined with Smit and Mammoet Transport to raise the Russian nuclear submarine Kursk. The companies had struck a $66.3 mil deal with the Russians.
