Rail projects total $58 billion in top 50

50 railway transportation agencies in various cities of United States and Canada have been ranked for the year 2003 by METRO's ninth annual North American rail projects survey, according to various parameters like project costs, total railcars,, commuter railcars, total rail riders etc. In terms of total projects costs, MTA New York City Transit, Chicago Transit Authority and Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority have been ranked first, second and third respectively while in the largest rail fleet category MTA New York City Transit, Amtrak and Chicago Transit Authority are ranked first, second and third respectively.
